Verrocchio, il maestro di Leonardo: an exhibition not to be missed in Florence

15 March 2019

Not to be missed in Florence is the exhibition “Verrocchio, il Maestro di Leonardo” that is held in Palazzo Strozzi on Via Tornabuoni until 14th July, As we celebrate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci’s death, Palazzo Strozzi has chosen to put the spotlight on Andrea del Verrocchio, a Renaissance artist who had a large workshop where Leonardo worked.

The exhibition showcases over 120 paintings, sculptures and drawings loaned by major museums from United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, USA and other collections. The exhibition brings together for the first time not only Verrocchio masterpieces, but also other artists associated with his workshop in the second half of the 15th century such as Domenico Del Ghirlandaio, Botticelli, Perugino and his most famous pupil, Leonardo da Vinci.

The exhibition provides a wonderful overview of art in Florence between 1460 and 1490, at the time of Lorenzo the Magnificent. www.palazzostrozzi.orgVilla le Barone will also be happy to book tickets for guests.
